One of my favourite places so far. Neon Lights and people everywhere. Chi Lin Nunnery was one of the most beautiful places we have visited. A place that is serene and quiet in the middle of a claustrophobic sky scraper city. Plus we learnt to use chopsticks. We were proud. I am now home and was greeted the airport by an emotional mother and a very happy best friend and father. I am happy to be home, there is nothing better than a massive hug from people you have not seen in ages....and I can now drink all the hot Ribena I want. x

East Coast Australia

We have been in Australia for a month now and are home in a week! We have been to Fraser Island and had a go at driving some 4x4's and also got to see Lake McKenzie.We did a castaway trip in 1770, where we camped on the beach for the night and the next day got a scenic flight over Middle Island,with a pilot called Bruce! One of the best things we have done in OZ! We got back from the castaway trip and then lovely Mike turned up and proposed to Alicia! All very exciting! Next stop was Kroombit, a cattle station where we learnt to Lasoo and crack wips, also having a go at the bucking bronco! Not so good at that! Then onto Airlie Beach where went on our boat the Boomerang for a tour of the Whitsundays. It was brilliant, helped out with the sailing and saw Whales and Dolphins. Whitehaven Beach was beautiful! We did a quick stop at Magnetic Island and now we are in Cairns! Yesterday we went to Cape Tribulation, the weather was rubbish but we had some good ice cream!!!!! Tomorrow we are off for a snorkeling trip and then onto Hong Kong where we shall be stocking up on fake designer goods!!!! x

We are currently in Noosa in Australia! It's lovely! We are staying in a hostel called Flashpackers(apparently this means upmarket backpackers!) and its AMAZING! The nicest hostel we have stayed in so far! When we were in Sydney it absolutely poured it down with rain, but we got to do some wine tasting in the Hunter Valley! Lovely! We have been to surf camp, spotted some hippies in Byron Bay, and celebrated Alicia's graduation in Cheeky Monkey's, a very well deserved 2:1 in Public Relations. We bought her a cap as a present, so she had to wear it out and this meant she had to partake in the silly backpacker games. The hat resulted in Alicia seeing how many pegs she could put on Kim's face. Possibly one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed. We spent a day at the beach and had a night out in Surfers Paradise, saw Koalas and fed Kangeroos in Brisbane and done lots of walking in Noosa aswell as spying all the rather lovely houses! We also went to a farmers market and ate all the tasters. We are off to Rainbow Beach tomorrow and then onto Fraser Island for a bit of 4x4 driving! Also............It's a few days early Sorrel I know but HAPPY 21ST!!!!!!!!!!!!! x

So finally managed to upload a few pictures! They are of general scenery, our themed night of 'tight and bright', Queenstown, the Franz Josef Glacier, cocktails in teapots and the legend that is the Fergburger, the best thing we have ever eaten! Currently in a very random hostel in Christchurch and leaving for Oz tomorrow! x

So we have been in Thailand for just over two weeks now. We have been to the North, Bangkok and th South Islands, Koh Samui and Koh Tao. Koh Tao was the best where we went snorkelling and had cocktails on the beach! Amazing! We have been tubing and fed monkeys at Koh Sok National Park and seen all the temples in the ridiculously hot Bangkok! We also took a day trip to Ayuttaya, the old capital of Thailand and stayed in an amazing hotel which we had booked ages ago, we all had the best nights sleep in the whole time we have been here! We were with Gap Adventures for most of the trip which was really good as we had our own guide and met some fab people, and worthwhile considering all the political riots supposedly happening allthough we have not seen anything! We had an amazing guide Tui! Today we fly to New Zealand, very excited! Alicia is desperate to see Sex and the City 2 when we get there! I am trying to upload some pictures but all computers seem to hate me with a passion!

The last couple of days we were on a hill tribe trek!! Hardest thing to do in the world ever!! We did it though, so go us!! I am trying to upload pictures but the computer wont let me! Time is about to run out, but I will keep on trying with the pics!!!!!

So we arrived in Chiang Mai, Thailand after an 11 hour flight, 5 hour wait at Bangkok airport and 1 hour flight to Chiang Mai. We got to the hostel late at night and the heat just hit us! It is ridiculously hot!!! We got greeted by a cockroach too, this was soon dealt with! We also have a resident gheko. On the Saturday we went to the Elephant Nature Park. It has 31 elephants all rescued from situations such as street begging. It was amazing, we got to feed them and bath them, and got told that they rather like the ice cream truck when it visits the park! We also met a Thai man that just wanted to talk to us about David Cameron and how young and good looking he was and that he would great things for our country! In the evening we went for an explore and went for a first night cocktail, it was a reggae bar, turns out reggae music is big in Chiang Mai! We have also been to the Sunday Market which was fab! It is currently a festival where Buddist's give thanks and pay respect to their religion. They buy flowers and place them by the temples and monuments. The atmosphere was amazing! Also it rained today!! Nice and cooling! Tomorrow we are joining our tour group and head off on a trek through the jungle! x

The Time Has Come!

So after sooooooooooooooooo long waiting the day has finally arrived where we embark on our travels. To say I am nervous is a complete and utter UNDERSTATEMENT! I am so excited but this is very much been overtaken by nerves at the moment. We had to change our plans last minute because of riots in Bangkok, so are now travelling onwards to Chiang Mai, where we will meet our tour, just missing the first few days of the tour. However there is an upside we get to go to an elephant sanctuary on Saturday! There is always an upside!

I have no doubt about it I will have a wonderful time with two of my bestest chums, but I will definitely miss home, family and my gorgeous girls. My friend Melms sent me a wish me luck/keep me safe charm which I plan to wear all the time, Caramaline made me a card, which is hilarious, she always knows the right thing to say. And Sorrel sent my card full of grown up travel advice from her own travels which was fab, I will go and dance on tables just for you Sorrel! And a card from the lovely Bex and not to mention lots of facebook messages!! To know all my friends are thinking of me is amazing. I have written my mum and dad a card to read after I leave just to say thanks for all their help and I know my mum will be a crying mess! Sorry Mum!

I plan to update this often as I can whilst away, even just for my dad who will think he is really 'hip' because he is reading a blog!!

Volcanic Ash.

So this whole volcanic ash malarky. So a Volcano in Iceland errupts, haulting all flights in and out of the UK.( and everywhere else) My Mum and Dad have been stuck in Rome and on Sunday decided that their only chance of getting home is by train! So they set off from Rome, then onto to Zurich, then to Paris, then to a port just outside of Paris to catch a ferry to the UK , Newhaven, where my Aunty then picks them up for an hour journey home. I feel them, I really do. Especially my Mum who is not one for public transport!

Now luckily they had their holiday but their are thousands of people that didnt even get to go, they got a gorgeous view of Heathrow airport. Now on May 13th, its time for us to travel. Hopefully the volcaninc ash would have pissed off by then. HOWEVER according to news reports a sister volcano could errupt in the next month. Brilliant. Just Brilliant! Now if I and the girls do not get to go, I am not sure what exactly we will do! I will go MENTAL, thousands of pounds spent on a holiday of a lifetime and some silly ash means that there could be problems!!

Also there have been riots in Bangkok.People have been donating their blood for it to poured all over the streets in protest against the current prime minister. How lovely! Things are really looking up for our trip! Positive thoughts , positive thoughts, positive thoughts!

Oh and Congratulations to darling Alicia who got a job as a PR Brand Assistant Manager, and starts as soon as we get back!! Well Well Well Done! Completely and utterly deserved! x

Skydive?!!!

So we have decided to go to Ayutthaya and Kimbers found us this amazing hotel for a bargain price and it looks gorgeous! The picture is of the view from the hotel looking over the ancient city. Thailand is one place that I am looking forward to going the most and with the addition of this mini trip I am even more excited! However there was a programme called 'Big Trouble in Thailand' on the television the other and a girl was put in a Thai prision (Bridgitte Jones styleee) for carrying Marujana and another bloke ended up completely bruised and battered after the legendary Full Moon Party. I am not sure if we will make the Full Moon party but if we do, note to self; 1. Avoid being punched and 2. Stay away from any sort of dodgy looking substance even if it may just be a Tic Tac!

And also we may do a sky dive in NZ! How exciting! My chubby cheeks may not cope well with the extreme wind! I am all for adventure but I may need a bit of a push( maybe more of a shove) out of the plane! Even if we dont do a Sky Dive we will most definitely do something remotely adventurous!! You only live once! x

So yet again with not vast amount to do at work today because my boss is away I have been searching around on the internet for well anything! Most of the discussion with the girls of late has been about Thailand, as written before and we are now thinking that we might splash out on a hotel for the one night that we will spend outside of Bangkok, and it has an amazing pool! Oh what luxury it seems to be considering that most of the hostels we have found in Thailand have been at a very reasonable £4 a night!!! Far better than reasonable, bloomin bargain!!!

So with talk of a pool I decided to see what the temperature would be and to my surprise its.....................35 degrees! I did not think it would be that hot! So now I have transported myself to Lois Land where I am in Koh Tao in a bikini ,chillaxing on the beach instead of sitting at my desk in a scrotty office in Queens Park where quite frankly its a joke how much it is raining!!!!! x

45 Days!

So pretty much everything in life right now revolves around our little adventure, and today is exactly 45 days until we head off! Much discussion has been about Thailand and what we are going to do when have a few free days in Bangkok, we like to have a rough plan! We want to venture outside Bangkok on these days and today we have discovered (after much googling) a place called Ayutthaya, and it looks absolutely beautiful. It used to be the capital and has so much history. Such an amazing place to imagine on such a dreary Sunday evening!!!

So with nothing to do at work today I went on a bit of a blogging marathon. I have come across so many interesting blogs ones by my friends and those of total strangers! I came across the Lost Girls who started blogging about their year long around the world adventure and it dawned on me that in less than two months time I will be on my travels with my two lovely friends Alicia and Kim! Heading to Thailand, New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong. After reading the Lost Girls blog I thought it be a great way for my family and friends to see what we are getting up to while we are away for 11 weeks! Blogs have completely saved me from the stressful life of being a fashion intern and everytime it gets rubbish I can just simply blog about our preparation for our trip and look at the amazing image above and daydream of our travels! x
